The following article describes how to cancel an SOS alert using both the ZOLEO device as a standalone, and also with the ZOLEO App. Once an SOS is declared via the ZOLEO app or device, it can be cancelled at any time.
Note: The ZOLEO app is not required to declare or cancel an SOS.
Via the ZOLEO Device:
- Ensure the ZOLEO device is facing up with a clear view of the sky.
- Lift the SOS protective cover.
- Press & hold the SOS button for 5 seconds.
- The device will emit a short ascending tone indicating the cancellation process has started.
- The LEDs on the device will begin to SPIN GREEN (circle pattern).
- Important: Wait for the SOS cancellation to be sent.
- When the SOS cancellation has been successfully sent.
- The ZOLEO device will emit a positive ascending tone.
- The LEDs on the device will no longer spin green and return to default indicating SOS has ended.
Note: You can cancel an SOS alert during the 10-second countdown when an SOS alert is initiated. Simply press & hold the SOS button for 5 seconds and the 10-second countdown will stop. The SOS alert will not be sent to the emergency response provider if cancelled during the 10-second countdown. After the 10-second countdown, you must wait for your SOS alert to be sent to cancel from the device. Alternatively, you can cancel using the ZOLEO app anytime.
Via the ZOLEO App:

Ensure the ZOLEO device is face up with a clear view of the sky and is paired to the ZOLEO App on your smartphone.

In the app, navigate to the SOS tab (bottom menu) or tap on the SOS Banner.

Tap the CANCEL SOS button.

A confirmation pop-up will appear, confirm the cancellation to proceed.

Once the SOS cancellation has been successfully sent, the SOS Banner will show SOS ENDED.
Note: When the SOS alert is cancelled, the chat session with the SOS Response Agent will end.
