How changing your plan impacts your billing:
-
Proration: When you change your plan during your billing cycle, both your monthly plan fee and message allocation will be prorated based on the date of the change.
-
Plan Fees: When you upgrade, downgrade, or suspend your service, your monthly fees for the current billing cycle will be recalculated according to the number of days you were on each plan.
-
Message Allocation: Your message allotment will also be adjusted based on the number of days you were on each plan.
-
Example: Suppose you are on the Basic plan with 25 messages, and you decide to upgrade to In Touch, which offers 250 messages. If you change your plan two-thirds of the way through the billing cycle (on Day 20), your message allocation will be prorated as follows:
- Old Plan (Days 1-20): You would receive two-thirds of the message allotment from your old plan, which equals 17 messages.
- New Plan (Days 21-30): You would receive one-third of the message allotment from your new plan, which equals 83 messages.
In total, after the plan change, you would have 17 messages under the old plan and 83 messages under the new plan for the current billing cycle.

Optimizing Message Allocation: If you anticipate needing more messages in the upcoming billing period, it's best to change your plan before the new period starts or at the very beginning of it. This ensures you receive the full message allocation for the new plan.
