When an SOS is declared from a ZOLEO device the information provided for the SOS Contacts will be shared with our emergency monitoring coordinating partner which is an international 24-hour/365-day search and rescue coordination center.
The coordinating partner will call the SOS Contacts (in no particular order) only if they require more information regarding the situation of the ZOLEO user.
Global Rescue will use their discretion to determine whether to reach out to the emergency contacts, if they have not been in contact with the ZOLEO device user, and require more information from the SOS contacts.
It's more likely for it to occur when Global Rescue cannot reach the device user. They will identify themselves, advise of the reason for their call, provide any information they have regarding the SOS and device user's state, and gather any relevant information the SOS contact can provide on the device user.
Global Rescue will request relevant information from the SOS contact regarding the ZOLEO user such as:
- Where the ZOLEO user might be
- Where the ZOLEO user might be headed
- Information pertaining to the trip plans.
Note: if the coordinating partner is successful in contacting one SOS Contact via the phone they will not attempt to reach the other.
