The satellite signal strength is shown on the status bar located at the bottom of the ZOLEO app just above the navigation tabs, when your ZOLEO communicator is connected via Bluetooth.
The status bar can be expanded to view information about the device such as battery status, satellite signal, last successful message check, when the next message check will occur, and the next location update will be sent if Location Share+ is enabled. For more information, visit The ZOLEO Status Bar.
Important:
- Satellite signal will only be displayed while the ZOLEO device is actively communicating with the Iridium satellite network, typically when messages are being sent or received.
- It's normal for the signal to fluctuate as satellites enter and exit the line of sight to the device.
How To Check Signal Strength
- Open the ZOLEO App and connect to your ZOLEO device.
- Look for the status bar just above the four main navigation icons (blue/gray in color).
- Tap the upward arrow (⌃) to expand and view detailed device status information.
- Look for the Satellite Signal section:
- If your ZOLEO device is actively communicating with the Iridium satellite network, the signal strength will be displayed with 0 to 3 bars (0 = no signal, 3 = full strength).
- If the section does not appear, the device is not currently sending or receiving messages.
Tip: You can tap the Check Messages button or wait for the next message check to view your satellite signal.
