This article reviews how to activate your ZOLEO Device if you are using a desktop version of our website, and it includes screenshots. Please note the Articles in this Section for other activation-based articles.
Requirements to complete activation using a computer (here’s how to do it using a mobile device):
- Access to Internet
- Chrome is preferred browser, MacOS users can use Safari (most recent version)
- Your credit card information
- Emergency Contact information (minimum 2 contacts) including name, email address, and phone number
- 15-20 minutes to complete
Outcome of your activation:
- ZOLEO device will have service active within an hour of finalising;
- Two SOS contacts and one Check-In contact will be set up;
- Your billing period starts same date and matches the date of activation,
- Your first invoice will be created and it includes the activation fee and the plan charge for the upcoming billing period.
NOTE: No payment will be debited at time of activation. You will receive an email notification shortly regarding your invoice being ready, and it will be considered the account's due balance 3 days after your billing date. Your payment will be pulled according to our payment schedule.
How to activate your account
- Charge your device first. If you like, you can wait until you see the device is charged before proceeding to activate. Here’s more information on charging your ZOLEO.
- Go to www.zoleo.com/activate and you will be prompted to create your account or sign in. Once you're signed in, it will land you on the Add Device page below.
- Add Device - Complete the information by entering the following:
a IMEI of the device
b Serial Number c Nickname – this is the device’s name and is required. It shows up on the "from" information in any emails, and in check-in messages. d ZOLEO Email address – this is where you select the name before the @zoleo.com email associated with your device (i.e. johndoe). e ZOLEO SMS number – Shows the region from which the SMS number is taken. The phone number will reflect a local number from that country and should match your country.
- Pick a Plan – simply pick the plan you hope to activate on. Here’s a link to view our plans.
- Once you click on a plan, a prompt will show up to accept our terms and conditions. You can see our terms and conditions at www.zoleo.com/service-terms/
- Review the terms and conditions of use, and if you agree select the checkbox next to “I accept…” and hit “Accept” to return to the plan page with your selected plan now with a solid border around it. Scroll down and hit “Next” to proceed.
- Add Location Share+ Feature – select if you’d like to have the Location Share+ feature add-on to your account.
- Add your first Contacts – select two SOS Contacts and a first Check-In Contact to start. Please note the following:
- We recommend you do not use yourself as an SOS Contact. This contact is an emergency contact and should be set to someone who can be reached if an SOS event is triggered.
- Be sure to have right email and number for your contacts.
- If you’re reusing an SOS Contact as a Check-in Contact, please note you do not need to re-enter their full information, simply start typing their name until the drop down shows their information and select it to fill the fields.
- Payment & Activation – you’re now on the checkout page. Your name will be filled in the name fields. Be sure to review the Options Details of the purchase to make sure they match what you chose.
- Complete the payment information to pay
- Complete the address portion of the form. Fill in the following:
- Street Address (or PO BOX)
- City
- State/Province
- Zip/Postal Code
- Phone number
- Hit “Save Address”, which should appear Green once you’ve completed the address information.
- You’ll know this is completed when the address you entered shows up under the information with an Edit button under it. If you need to change your address, you can do so by hitting Edit
- Complete the Credit Card information and complete "I'm not a robot" CAPTCHA.
- Once completed, the Place Order button will turn red.
- Complete the address portion of the form. Fill in the following:
If the Place Order button doesn’t turn red, go back to the start of Step 10 and ensure you have the following right:
- Check the address on file has been completed, and is showing up as shown in the screenshot in step 11.3.
- Make sure all the credit card information is filled in, as per the screenshot in step 11.4.
- Complete the captcha until you see a green checkmark as in the screenshot above these points.
