Texting to * or # numbers?

Our provincial wildfire service has a special number (*5555) for reporting fires from a cell phone. It isn't currently able to receive texts, but they do plan for such a thing in the future.

Meanwhile, I discovered that adding this number to my ZOLEO contacts doesn't work, as ZOLEO drops the *. Many other "special" numbers CAN receive texts but use a * or # (a local traffic station can receive text reports to their *730 or #730 numbers, for example). 

It would be great if this was able to work on ZOLEO as well.

  Thanks so much for this feedback! This is most likely a limitation with our SMS carrier partners, but it definitely seems like something we should try to further investigate and see if we can accommodate.
