Location Share+ enables you to automatically share your location with up to five (5) check-in contacts, on a selectable interval from every 6 minutes to 4 hours. Depending on how frequent your Location Share+ Update Interval is set to send location updates, you may find that the battery life on your ZOLEO device will not last as long as it typically would. In other cases, you may find there is no impact to battery consumption at all.
Below is a helpful chart outlining the estimated amount of battery consumed based on the Location Share+ Update Interval and Message Check Interval you have selected.
Please note that the battery life you experience may vary from the chart as factors like device usage, device settings, and signal availability will have direct effects on the battery life.
Expected battery life with Message Check Interval set to “Manual”
Expected battery life with Message Check Interval set to "12 Minutes"
Expected battery life with Message Check Interval set to "24 Minutes"
Expected battery life with Message Check Interval set to "60 Minutes"
Expected battery life with Message Check Interval set to “Always On”
Note: To assist with optimizing the battery life of your ZOLEO device while a Location Share+ session is active, the service will align location updates to be sent with upcoming message checks whenever possible.
