To access the latest features and improvements, update the ZOLEO app from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.
This release doesn't include a new firmware version, and it isn't mandatory. However, it is encouraged to update to the latest version of the app if you can, to take advantage of new features and improvements.

What's New in This Version
Automatically Include Location with Text Messages (App-to-app, SMS, and Email)
You can now choose to automatically include your location when using the ZOLEO App to send messages via App-to-App, SMS, or Email. This feature is ideal for sharing real-time location updates while travelling with your ZOLEO.
When enabled, your current location is added to each message in the conversation, without needing to manually tap the location pin each time.
How to Enable Automatic Location Sharing in a Chat
- Update the ZOLEO App to version 6.8 or later.
- Open the Chats tab and select the conversation where you’d like to enable the feature.
- Long-press the location pin icon next to the message field.
- When the pop-up appears, tap “Yes, turn on” to confirm.
Once enabled:
- Your current GPS coordinates will be automatically attached to all messages you send in that conversation (when location permissions are granted and a location fix is available).
- A banner will appear in the chat: “Location in messages is ON”.
How to Disable Automatic Location Sharing in a Chat
To turn off the feature in your conversation:

Open the Chats tab and select the conversation where you’d like to disable the feature.
- Tap the banner at the top of the conversation OR
- Long-press the location pin icon next to the message field.
- In the pop-up, confirm by selecting "Yes, turn off".
Note: You can still send your location manually by tapping the location pin at any time. This action works even if automatic sharing is turned off.
App Usage Analytics
In this release, we’ve added a new setting that gives you the option to share anonymous usage data with us to help improve the ZOLEO App.
When you update to version 6.8 (or install the app for the first time), you’ll see a prompt asking if you’d like to “Share anonymous usage data to help us build a better experience for you.”
This is entirely optional, and you can change your choice at any time in the Settings menu of your ZOLEO App. To do this go to Settings > About the App > Disable "Share anonymous usage data".
What this means for you:
- No personal information is collected.
- Data is only shared when your phone is connected to Wi-Fi or mobile data (never over satellite).
- The information we receive helps us understand how the app is used, so we can make it better for everyone.

Information on Travelling with your ZOLEO
A new Travelling with ZOLEO section is now available in the app’s Help section. It offers helpful guidance for users travelling internationally with their ZOLEO device, including:
- Airline regulations
- Country-specific restrictions on satellite communicators.
- Updating and informing your emergency contacts before your trip
How It Works:
- Go to Settings > Help.
- Tap Travelling with ZOLEO to view the content anytime.
This new resource provides quick access to important travel information, with no need to search external pages or contact support.
