If your ZOLEO app account has been inactive for a long time, it may be automatically deleted. This will not affect your MyZOLEO account of subscription, if you have one. We do this to help keep our systems running smoothly. Here’s everything you need to know.
What counts as “inactive”?
Your ZOLEO app account is considered inactive if:
- It isn’t linked to a ZOLEO device with an active subscription, AND
- It hasn’t sent or received any messages in the past 18 months (this includes texts, Check-Ins, Location Share+, etc.).
How to keep your app account active
To avoid having your ZOLEO app account deleted:
- Send at least one text message from the ZOLEO app, even if it’s to yourself.
- Do this before the 14-day deadline if you receive an inactivity warning.
- Make it a habit to use your ZOLEO app occasionally, even if your device is currently inactive.

What happens if your account is inactive?
We’ll notify you before anything is deleted:
- You’ll receive an SMS to the phone number used when registering your ZOLEO app.
- The message gives you 14 days’ notice to reactivate your account by simply sending a message from the app. A ZOLEO device is not required.
Example SMS:
"Hi! Your ZOLEO app account has been inactive for 18 months. It’ll be deleted in 14 days if not used. Send a message in the app now to keep it active. ZOLEO."
What if you don’t take action?
If there’s no activity in the app during the 14-day window:
- Your app account will be deleted. This change will not affect your MyZOLEO account or subscription, if you have one.
- You’ll need to create a new app account to use ZOLEO again, just follow the steps in the app.
What to expect after deletion
Depending on your situation:

If you remove the app from your phone:
When you reinstall and open it, you’ll need to sign up again. Past messages will not be restored. -
If the app is still installed on your phone:
You’ll see a message letting you know your account was deleted. You’ll be directed to the sign-up page.
