Use your MyZOLEO account to add, change, or remove the SOS and Check-In contacts assigned to your ZOLEO device. You cannot manage assigned SOS or Check-In contacts in the ZOLEO App.
Important: To remove an assigned Check-In contact, select Select Contact in the contact's Name drop-down, then select Save. This clears the device assignment but does not delete the contact from your MyZOLEO account.

What Are ZOLEO SOS Contacts
ZOLEO SOS contacts are people emergency providers may contact during an SOS event if they need more information about your situation. For more information about SOS events, see What Happens During an SOS.
Every ZOLEO device must have exactly two SOS contacts assigned at all times. During an SOS event, emergency providers will attempt to reach one of the two SOS contacts at random. After they reach one contact, they will not attempt to contact the other.
Who Should Be a ZOLEO SOS Contact
Choose people who know your plans or location and can provide useful information to emergency services. Suitable SOS contacts include family members, close friends, or trusted colleagues. Avoid using third-party services as SOS contacts.
Because two SOS contacts are always required, you cannot leave an SOS contact field blank. To remove an existing SOS contact from the device, replace that contact with another saved contact.
What Are ZOLEO Check-In Contacts
A ZOLEO Check-In contact receives the Check-In messages sent from your ZOLEO device. A Check-In message says, "I'm OK, here's my location," and includes a link to a map showing your current location.
You can send Check-In messages by SMS, email, both SMS and email, or through the ZOLEO App. You can also disable the location information included with standard Check-In messages.
Your ZOLEO device requires at least one Check-In contact and supports up to five. A Check-In contact can also be assigned as an SOS contact. If you subscribe to Location Share+, eligible Check-In contacts can receive a breadcrumb trail of your location updates through the ZOLEO App.
You can clear an extra Check-In contact field by selecting Select Contact. If only one Check-In contact is assigned, replace that contact instead because one Check-In contact must remain assigned.
How To Manage Contacts Saved to Your MyZOLEO Account
The SOS and Check-In Contacts section stores the contacts available for assignment to your ZOLEO device. Editing a saved contact updates that person's details wherever the contact is assigned. Saving a contact to your account does not automatically assign the contact to a device.
- Log in at www.myzoleo.com.
- Select SOS and Check-In Contacts. On mobile, open the My Account drop-down menu, then select SOS and Check-In Contacts.
- To add a contact, select Add contact, enter the contact's details, then select Save.
- To edit a saved contact, update the details on the contact card, then select Save.
To make a saved contact an active SOS or Check-In contact, assign the contact under Devices & Plans > Contacts.
How To Assign or Change Contacts on a ZOLEO Device
Assign a saved contact to your ZOLEO device to make that person an active SOS or Check-In contact. You can also replace an assigned contact from the same page.
- Log in at www.myzoleo.com.
- Select Devices & Plans. On mobile, open the My Account drop-down menu, then select Devices & Plans.
- Under the device name, select the Contacts tab. On mobile, select the three-dot menu beside the device, then select Contacts.
- In the appropriate Name drop-down, select the contact you want to assign.
- SOS contacts: Assign one contact to each of the two required SOS contact fields.
- Check-In contacts: Assign a contact to an available field, then choose how the contact should receive Check-In messages in the Contact Method drop-down.
- New contacts: Select + ADD NEW CONTACT, enter the contact's details, then select Save in the contact window.
- Select Save to apply the device contact assignments.
How To Remove a Check-In Contact from a ZOLEO Device
To remove a Check-In contact from your ZOLEO device, clear the assigned contact field by selecting Select Contact. The MyZOLEO contact list does not display a separate Remove option for this task.
- Log in at www.myzoleo.com.
- Select Devices & Plans. On mobile, open the My Account drop-down menu, then select Devices & Plans.
- Under the device name, select the Contacts tab. On mobile, select the three-dot menu beside the device, then select Contacts.
- In the Check-In contact's Name drop-down, select Select Contact at the top of the contact list.
- Select Save.
After you save, the field is blank and the contact is no longer assigned to the ZOLEO device. The contact remains saved in the SOS and Check-In Contacts section of your MyZOLEO account.
Note: At least one Check-In contact must remain assigned. If you want to remove the only assigned Check-In contact, replace that contact with another contact instead of clearing the field.
How To Replace a Required SOS or Check-In Contact
Every ZOLEO device requires two SOS contacts and at least one Check-In contact. To remove one of these required contacts from the device, assign another contact in the same field and save the change.
- Log in at www.myzoleo.com.
- Select Devices & Plans, then select the Contacts tab under the device name.
- Open the Name drop-down for the SOS or Check-In contact you want to replace.
- Select the replacement contact. To create a contact, select + ADD NEW CONTACT, enter the contact's details, then select Save in the contact window.
- For a Check-In contact, select the required option in the Contact Method drop-down.
- Select Save to apply the replacement.
After you save, the replacement contact is assigned to the ZOLEO device and the previous contact is no longer assigned in that field. The previous contact remains saved in your MyZOLEO account unless you delete the saved contact separately.
How To Ensure a Check-In Contact Receives Location Share+
Location Share+ (LS+) allows eligible Check-In contacts to see a breadcrumb trail of your location updates through the ZOLEO App. Standard Check-In messages are delivered using the contact method selected in MyZOLEO.
For a Check-In contact to receive Location Share+ updates:
- The contact must be saved in your MyZOLEO account and assigned to your ZOLEO device as a Check-In contact.
- The phone number in the saved contact must match the phone number used for the contact's ZOLEO App account.
- The contact method should be set to ZOLEO App.
To correct the contact details, select SOS and Check-In Contacts in your MyZOLEO account. To change the device assignment or contact method, select Devices & Plans > Contacts.
