This article explains how to share device activity in ZOLEO Track using a regular link or an email invitation. You’ll learn how to choose recipients, set an expiration, and manage links after sharing them.
Choose How To Share Your ZOLEO Track Map
You can share activity from one or more ZOLEO devices through a link that opens in a mobile or desktop browser.
Choose the sharing method that suits your needs:
| Sharing method | How it works | Who can access it |
|---|---|---|
| Regular link | Create a link, copy it, and send it yourself. | Anyone with the link while it remains active. |
| Email-invited link | Select MyZOLEO contacts or enter recipient email addresses. ZOLEO sends invitations. | Approved recipients who access the map through their invited email inboxes. |
Recipients do not need the ZOLEO app or a ZOLEO account.
Treat regular links as private information. Someone who receives a forwarded regular link can also use it while it remains active.
Password protection is not available. Use an invited link when you want access restricted to approved email addresses.
Create a Regular ZOLEO Track Shared Link
Use a regular link when you want to copy and send the link yourself.
- Sign in to your MyZOLEO account.
- Open ZOLEO Track.
- Select Share in the upper-right corner.
- Select the device or devices you want to share.
- Choose the link access: Anyone.
- Choose an expiration date or select Never expires.
- Complete link creation and copy the shared link.
- Send the link using email, SMS, or your preferred messaging app.
Anyone with a regular link can access its shared content while the link remains active. Share it only with people you want to have access.
Invite People to a ZOLEO Track Map by Email
Use an invited link when you want access restricted to specific email inboxes.
- Sign in to your MyZOLEO account.
- Open ZOLEO Track.
- Select Share in the upper-right corner.
- Select the device or devices you want to share.
- Choose the link access: Invited.
- Select recipients from your MyZOLEO contacts or enter their email addresses.
- Review the recipient email addresses.
- Choose an expiration date or select Never expires.
- Complete the creation to send the invitations.
When selecting MyZOLEO contacts, check that the recipient email addresses are the inboxes you intend to invite.
When a recipient opens the shared link, they enter their invited email address. ZOLEO sends a secure access link to that inbox if the address is approved.
For recipient instructions, see How To Access a ZOLEO Track Map Shared by Email.
Set How Long a ZOLEO Track Shared Link Remains Available
When you create a ZOLEO Track shared link, choose an expiration date or select Never expires.
A link with an expiration date stops providing access when that date is reached. Never expires removes the scheduled expiration, but you can still revoke the link to stop access.
You can update an active link’s expiration without generating a new shared URL.
Manage a ZOLEO Track Link After Sharing
To manage a link you created, open Share → Manage links in ZOLEO Track.
Select an active link to update its expiration or shared devices. For an invited link, you can also remove recipients or add them by selecting MyZOLEO contacts or entering email addresses.
Review the recipient list before saving. Saving these changes keeps the same shared URL.
To stop access for everyone using a link, revoke it. Access stops immediately, including for anyone currently viewing the map.
For complete instructions, including link history and expired-link reactivation, see How To Manage Shared Links in ZOLEO Track.
What Shared-Link Viewers Can Access
A regular link allows anyone who has it to access the shared content while the link remains active. An invited link requires access through an approved recipient’s email inbox.
Neither sharing method gives guests access to your MyZOLEO login, account settings, or billing. Available map features depend on the shared devices and their eligibility.
| Shared-link viewers can | Shared-link viewers cannot |
|---|---|
| View the shared ZOLEO Track map | Sign in to your MyZOLEO account |
| View location history and activity | View billing or account information |
| View device status | Change device settings |
| Open the link from a mobile or desktop browser | Send messages from your account |
| Use Locate when it is available for an eligible device | Manage your subscription or devices |
Get Help With a ZOLEO Track Shared Link
If a shared map does not open, check whether the message concerns the shared map link or an emailed access link.
- Link expired: Ask the owner to extend access.
- Link not valid: Ask the owner to check the link. Revoked links require a new shared link.
- Access link not valid: Request another single-use access link through the invited email inbox.
- Nothing to show yet: Check back later or ask the owner to confirm that the shared device has reported activity.
If an invited recipient does not receive an access email, check the email address included in the shared link’s recipient list.
