This FAQ answers common questions about the ZOLEO Track experience, including access, activity history, device states, shared activity links, Locate, and CSV export.
What is ZOLEO Track?
ZOLEO Track is a web map for viewing ZOLEO device location activity. It can show Check-in activity, Location Share+ breadcrumb trails, SOS activity, and Location updates from the Locate feature.
ZOLEO Track is available in a desktop or mobile browser. It is separate from the ZOLEO app, which is still used for messaging, pairing, and managing app-based settings.
Is ZOLEO Track free?
Yes, ZOLEO Track is included at no additional cost for active MyZOLEO users. You do not pay a separate fee to open ZOLEO Track or view supported device activity.
Location Share+ is a paid add-on. You need Location Share+ for automatic breadcrumb updates and the Locate feature.
Where do I access ZOLEO Track?
You can access ZOLEO Track from MyZOLEO or directly from the ZOLEO Track app. ZOLEO Track opens in a browser and can be used on desktop or mobile web.
You can bookmark the ZOLEO Track app for quicker access.
Do I need to accept consent or enable devices for ZOLEO Track?
No. ZOLEO Track doesn't require per-device consent or manual device enablement before activity can appear.
Eligible active devices on your MyZOLEO account appear automatically in ZOLEO Track. Deactivated devices do not appear on the map or in the device list.
Does ZOLEO Track activity history expire?
No. ZOLEO Track doesn't close your Track access or expire activity history.
You can use the date range options in ZOLEO Track to review available historical activity. If expected historical activity is missing, check the selected date range and device selection first.
How are location points created in ZOLEO Track?
ZOLEO Track receives location activity when a ZOLEO device sends a Check-in message, sends Location Share+ updates, triggers or cancels an SOS alert, or responds to a Locate request.
Check-in and SOS activity can appear without Location Share+. Automatic breadcrumb updates and Locate require Location Share+.
Do I need Location Share+ to use ZOLEO Track?
You do not need Location Share+ to open ZOLEO Track or view supported Check-in and SOS activity. ZOLEO Track can show activity generated by those events without the add-on.
You need Location Share+ for automatic breadcrumb updates and Locate. Location Share+ add-on pricing applies if you subscribe.
How many devices can I see in ZOLEO Track?
ZOLEO Track can show multiple eligible devices from your MyZOLEO account. If you have more than one device, you can search, filter, and select multiple devices to view them on the map.
If you have one ZOLEO device, ZOLEO Track provides a focused single-device experience.
Why is my device missing from ZOLEO Track?
A ZOLEO device may be missing if it is deactivated or if you are signed in to a different MyZOLEO account. ZOLEO Track only shows eligible devices connected to the signed-in account.
If the device is active and belongs to the account you are using, contact ZOLEO Customer Care for help reviewing the device status.
Can I rename a device in ZOLEO Track?
You cannot rename a ZOLEO device directly in ZOLEO Track. ZOLEO Track uses the device name from MyZOLEO.
To change the device name shown in ZOLEO Track, update the device name from your MyZOLEO account.
What do the ZOLEO Track device states mean?
ZOLEO Track device states describe the latest activity reported by the ZOLEO device.
- SOS means an SOS alert is active.
- Live means the device is actively sending Location Share+ updates.
- Check-in means the device sent a manual Check-in message.
- Location update means the device responded to a Locate request.
- Not active means no current activity has been reported in the last 24 hours.
Most states change to Not active after 24 hours.
Why can't I see the battery level in ZOLEO Track?
ZOLEO Track may hide the battery level when the device's last reported activity is older than one week. Older battery information may not reflect the device's current battery level.
When the device sends newer activity with battery data, ZOLEO Track can show the battery level again.
Why does ZOLEO Track show coordinates instead of an address?
ZOLEO Track shows coordinates when a street address is not available for the reported GPS location. This is common in remote areas with limited nearby address data.
A coordinate-only or approximate location does not automatically mean the ZOLEO device reported the wrong position.
Why do ZOLEO Track times look different from the trip location?
ZOLEO Track shows activity times using your browser's timezone. If the ZOLEO device was in another time zone, the time shown in ZOLEO Track may differ from the local time at the device's location.
Check your browser or computer time zone if you need to compare ZOLEO Track activity against local trip records.
Why don't I see Location Share+ updates in ZOLEO Track?
Location Share+ updates may not appear if the ZOLEO device has not sent new Location Share+ activity for the selected date range. Check that Location Share+ is active and that the date range includes the expected activity.
If a no-movement setting is enabled and the device has not moved, new Location Share+ points may not appear in ZOLEO Track.
Can I share ZOLEO Track with someone else?
Yes. You can create a shared activity link from ZOLEO Track and send it to another person. The recipient opens the link in a browser and sees a read-only view of the shared activity.
Anyone with the shared activity link can view the activity included in that link until it expires, so share the link only with people you trust.
Does a shared-link viewer need the ZOLEO app or a login?
No. A shared-link viewer does not need the ZOLEO app, a ZOLEO account, or a MyZOLEO login. The viewer opens the shared activity link in a mobile or desktop browser.
The shared link gives read-only access to the activity included in the link. It does not give access to your MyZOLEO account.
Can I revoke or edit a shared activity link?
No, link management is not available in ZOLEO Track currently. You cannot edit, revoke, or resend a shared activity link from a link management screen.
If you need different sharing access for the future, create a new shared activity link with the devices and expiry date you want.
How long can a shared activity link last?
A new shared activity link defaults to expire the next day. You can choose an expiry date up to 180 days ahead.
When the link expires, viewers can no longer see activity through that link. Create a new shared activity link if you want to continue sharing.
Can one shared activity link include more than one device?
Yes. If you have several eligible devices, you can include more than one device in a single ZOLEO Track shared activity link.
The viewer can follow the devices included in that link until the link expires.
What is Locate in ZOLEO Track?
Locate is a ZOLEO Track feature that requests the current location of an eligible ZOLEO device. When the device responds, ZOLEO Track shows the result as a Location update.
Locate is useful when a device has not reported recently and you want to confirm its current location.
Who can locate a ZOLEO device?
MyZOLEO account owners can use Locate for eligible devices. Shared-link viewers can also use Locate when the shared device is eligible.
Locate does not allow the viewer to log in to your account, send messages, or change device settings.
Why don't I see the Locate button?
The Locate button appears only when the selected ZOLEO device is eligible. The device needs an active Location Share+ add-on, ZOLEO app version 6.6.0 or later, and firmware version 7.1-0 or later.
Locate is not available while a device is in SOS. Locate also does not work for a deactivated, turned-off, or out-of-coverage device.
Why did Locate take several minutes?
Locate can take several minutes because a ZOLEO device checks for waiting requests on its regular schedule and after it sends other activity. A cellular response is usually faster than a satellite response.
A cellular response commonly takes about 1 to 5 minutes. A satellite response can take about 6 to 15 minutes, depending on coverage and when the device checks for waiting requests.
What does Could not Locate mean?
Could not Locate means the Locate request did not receive a device response in time. It is the status of the request, not a separate location point.
The device may be powered off, out of battery, out of coverage, blocked from satellite view, or not eligible for Locate. You can try again after the cooldown clears if the device remains eligible.
Can I export ZOLEO Track activity data?
Yes. ZOLEO Track can export activity data for selected devices and a selected date range. Export is useful for safety reviews, compliance, proof of work, or offline analysis.
Export includes only activity that matches the selected devices and date range.
What file format does ZOLEO Track export?
ZOLEO Track exports CSV only. Report previews and export formats such as PDF, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, RTF, and TIFF are not available in the refreshed ZOLEO Track experience.
You can open the CSV in spreadsheet tools that support comma-separated values.
Why did my ZOLEO Track export not download?
A ZOLEO Track export may not download if there is no activity for the selected devices and date range. ZOLEO Track may show a no-activity message instead of downloading an empty file.
Very large exports may also be blocked. If this happens, choose a shorter date range or fewer devices and try again.
